Updates to Taking Smart Notes with DEVONthink

I’ve recently sent out another update for Taking Smart Notes with DEVONthink. I didn't want everyone to lose all their notes and highlights, so all customers have received a package with the updates.

In addition, I’m updating the original files so any new downloads will contain the new stuff which include:

Addition of a workspace - Quick Save/Quick Load along with two new Keyboard Maestro macros

Ever wanted a way to Quick Save and Quick Load your windows and tabs like a video game? Now you can have one.

Bonus of a featured stylesheet with associated images

By popular request, I’ve added a bonus of the fancy stylesheet featured in the book. It’s the one I use currently, and I really dig it.

Update of Find Incoming WikiLinks script that includes aliases with incoming links

The original WikiLinks script did not show aliases. Another kind coder in the forums updated the file to include them.

Black & White versions of ePub and mobi

Some users were having troubles reading the files due to their renderings as too light on certain devices. These versions remove all coloring and deepen the contrast for those devices.

“Hey Kourosh! I just bought your book, based on the recommendations in the above thread.

At ﬁrst, I was put off by the size of it. Then I was relieved that the Apple Books version is at least in large type and small pages

I’m up to about page 200. I took your advice and created a new database to play with. I was actually frightened of creating new DBs in DEVONthink before, but with your book holding my hand it was a little less scary. I’m glad I did - I’ve learnt a huge amount already, and seeing how bits of DEVONthink operate when you have multiple databases had actually been really insightful....

Anyway - just wanted to thank you for the book, I’ve learnt a lot, and I’ve been dabbling in DT for a good few years already - it’s given me quite a different view of how to work with it, and it’s really insightful to read a comprehensive and complete perspective of how to understand the system from someone else. I can already see a lot of ways to improve my existing system, and new ways to work more effectively in future both in terms of using the software, but also of having effective note-taking.

I’ve literally learnt more in the last few hours than I have in the last few years of using DEVONthink. Genuine, heartfelt thanks for putting it together!...
